Linda Pachicano Named New Principal at CCES
Linda Pachicano, assistant principal of Ray Elementary, has been promoted to principal of Cottonwood Creek Elementary. She will begin her new duties on January 7, 2019, following the Christmas break.
Ms. Pachicano will replace Kyle Ruggirello, who was recently named the principal of “Doc” Kerley Elementary, Hutto ISD’s newest elementary school. That school will open fall of 2019.
“I am excited to begin the journey as principal at the legendary Cottonwood Creek Elementary and am very excited to meet our students, families, and staff,” said Ms. Pachicano. “I believe that all students can learn and that all bring a wealth of resources to our school via their talents, strengths, culture, language, and experiences. Being recognized and selected by our Hutto ISD Administration and School Board is a blessing!”
Ms. Pachicano is in her fifth year with Hutto ISD, having served as assistant principal at Veterans’ Hill Elementary from 2014 to 2017 before assuming her current position at Ray Elementary. Prior to Hutto ISD, she was the Taylor ISD Bilingual/ESL Coordinator from 2010-2014 and worked as a bilingual/ESL classroom teacher at T.H. Johnson Elementary in Taylor from 2001 to 2010.
“Ms. Pachicano brings her passion for elementary education and love of children to CCES,” said Superintendent Dr. Celina Estrada Thomas. “The staff, parents, and students will be in caring, expert hands when she takes over in January.”
Ms. Pachicano earned a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with an Emphasis on Bilingual and Bicultural Education from the University of Texas at Austin. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts (Spanish) with a minor in biology, also from UT - Austin.
She is the proud parent of two boys, Christopher, 16, and Matthew, 13. In her time away from work, she is a youth leader and lector at her church, a Habitat for Humanity volunteer, and involved with band boosters.
