Alexis Campbell Selected to Lead Ray Elementary School
Alexis Campbell, former principal of River Horse Academy in Hutto ISD, has been appointed principal of Ray Elementary School. Mrs. Campbell has been with Hutto ISD since the 2012-2013 school year. Prior to her time at River Horse Academy, she was an assistant principal at Hutto High School. She also taught at Barbara Jordan Elementary in Austin ISD for six years as a Prekindergarten, Kindergarten, and 4th grade teacher and served as the School Improvement Facilitator at LBJ Early College High School for a year.
Mrs. Campbell has a Bachelor of Science in Applied Learning and Development EC-4 from The University of Texas at Austin, a Masters of Education in Educational Administration from Concordia University in Austin, and is currently working toward a Doctorate in School Improvement at Texas State University.
"As the new principal of Ray Elementary, I eagerly await the opportunity to work with my fabulous and exemplary faculty, our students, our parents, and the Hutto community,” said Mrs. Campbell. “At Ray Elementary, we will work hard to inspire excellence in academics, promote positive relationships, cultivate character, and motivate students to reach their full potential as student scholars. It is my belief that success is possible for each and every child, and that partnerships with parents provide a foundation for effective learning. Together, my faculty and I, look forward to a productive year."
Mrs. Campbell is a member of the Hutto Lions Club, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, and Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Austin. In her free time, she enjoys walking and spending time with her family. She also enjoys traveling, especially outside of the country. In 2013, The College Board chose her as a delegate for Hutto ISD for the Chinese Bridge Delegation. While in Beijing, she visited K-12 schools and universities with other educators.
She and her husband, Ronald, have three daughters. Alyssa will be entering 6th grade at Farley Middle School while Cameron will be entering 3rd grade and Sydney 1st grade at Ray Elementary. All three of her daughters are members of the dual-language program offered by Hutto ISD.
