March 23, 2022
Dear Students and Parents,
To make up for the loss of instructional minutes due to COVID-19 illness in January and weather closures in February, Hutto ISD must extend the school year by one day. The last class day will now be on Friday, May 27. All campuses will be on an early release schedule that day. The early release originally scheduled for Thursday, May 26, has been moved to Friday, May 27. If you have extenuating family circumstances that prevent your student from attending school on the 27th, please send your campus attendance office a note with an explanation.
Graduation will still be held on May 26 as planned; however, seniors will need to report to campus the following day to retrieve their diplomas.
Early Release Schedule for May 25-27:
- Hutto High School and the Ninth Grade Center will have early release days for finals on May 25, 26 and 27.
- Secondary campuses (grades 6-8) will release at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 27.
- Elementary campuses (grades PK-5) will release at 12 p.m. on Friday, May 27.
We hope you were not impacted by the storms on Tuesday and that we do not encounter any other situations that may cause our schedule to shift yet again. We appreciate your patience and flexibility this year as we have navigated the various closures to keep our students and employees safe. Below is the revised district calendar that reflects the changes.
Respectfully,
The Hutto ISD Executive Leadership Team
