Dr. LaKesha Whitfield
9th Grade Center Principal
Hutto ISD’s 9th Grade Center Principal, Dr. LaKesha Whitfield, embodies the strength and spirit of a great leader. She is not afraid of tough situations, tackling challenges head-on and focusing on what matters most-the kids!
Dr. Whitfield wears many hats, and she looks stylish in every single one. She is the epitome of a servant leader, giving all the best parts of who she is to her students and staff! Her positive influence is making an impact on the lives of so many. Her favorite part of her day is relationship building with the students. She believes that for students to achieve success in school, they need to know that someone cares about them.
It's not uncommon for Dr. Whitfield to be at her campus walking the halls at 7 a.m. and turning off the lights at 9 p.m. Her passion to make a difference produces perseverance in her community. Quoting Nelson Mandela, Dr. Whitfield believes, "there can be no greater gift than that of giving one's time and energy to help others without expecting anything in return." Her story makes you realize that life does not just happen to you. You have control of your destiny. Dr. Whitfield shared in our interview that she is "not afraid to fail. [she] believes we are all going to make mistakes in life, and it's about how we recover and recoup from those failures that make all the difference."
Thank you, Dr. Whitfield, for your hard work and dedication to your students, staff, and parents at the Ninth Grade Center! You are a fearless leader that has a heart of gold! Hippo Nation is better because of YOU!
