Jason McAuliffe, Hutto Middle School Principal
Jason McAuliffe
Hutto Middle School Principal
Hutto Middle School Principal Jason McAuliffe, also known as Mr. Big Time (a nickname dubbed by one of his HMS students), is a master in his trade and adored by his HMS campus. He’s the first to give you a high five or fist bump in the hallway and is ready to step into action if a student or teacher needs extra help.
After meeting Mr. McAuliffe, you may think that he is "all-business", but he is actually quite the opposite. On the weekends you can find him outdoors; downhill mountain biking, hiking with his wife, or playing a game of basketball. He dresses for success and leads by example. Coming from humble beginnings, his life story makes you realize how important determination, strong work ethic, and surrounding yourself with a positive community can influence your future.
Mr. McAuliffe’s high school coach was his biggest influence growing up. In addition to genuinely caring for him as a person, his coach also invested in him. He helped in guiding the young Mr. McAuliffe to become somebody that now makes a difference in the lives of others. Mr. McAuliffe finds value in knowing that he can provide students with the same support his coach gave to him.
Hutto Middle School has a collective commitment to making sure their students find success. As Mr. McAuliffe says, “once an HMS student, always an HMS student," and he does an excellent job making sure his parents, staff, and students know his door is always open.
Not only can you find Mr. McAuliffe out in the hallways helping students during passing periods, but he is also there offering words of encouragement, actively helping students be the best they can be.
Mr. McAuliffe, your dedication to the HMS campus does not go unnoticed. Thank you for being a part of Hippo Nation. You are #LeavingALegacy!
