Cottonwood Creek Elementary to Temporarily Transition to Remote Learning Jan. 25-29

January 22, 2021

Dear Cottonwood Creek Elementary Parents and Staff:

Based on the number of staff members who are unable to work on campus due to a COVID-related exposure or illness, we have made the difficult decision to place the majority of students and staff on remote teaching and learning for five days beginning Monday, January 25 through Friday, January 29. We will assess our ability to return to in-person instruction by next Friday, January 29, and communicate accordingly. A few classes will be allowed to remain on campus due to special circumstances with the children’s instructional needs. These families will be contacted directly by the campus. The YMCA after school program will also continue to operate.

I want to emphasize that we have made this decision based on our ability to operate the campus effectively and safely. While there have been several staff members and students who have tested positive for COVID-19, the campus is not experiencing an uncontrollable spread of the virus. Unfortunately, the uncontrollable spread in the community is contributing to the number of people that have to quarantine or isolate themselves from others.

CCES Principal, Linda Pachicano, will follow up with an email regarding instruction and technology for next week and will provide contact information if you have any questions or concerns.

Please remember to follow safety guidelines while the children learn remotely. Stay safe and healthy.

Sincerely,

Celina Estrada Thomas Signature
