Holiday Break COVID Protocols - Dec. 17

Hutto ISD

Holiday Break COVID Protocols

Winter Break: Hutto ISD’s COVID-19 Protocols
Hutto ISD will be closed for break from December 21, 2020, through January 3, 2021.
Staff will return on January 4 and 5 for staff development and instructional planning. Students will return on Wednesday, January 6.

During the December 21 - January 3 two-week period, Hutto ISD will not be collecting, tracing or reporting student and staff COVID cases. Our school nurses and staff need the break physically and mentally to rest and spend time with their families. Williamson County and Cities Health District will be your point of contact for reporting all COVID-19 cases during school closures.

Positive COVID-19 Case Reporting
During the break, as well as the weekends before and after, all staff and students who test positive for COVID-19 will need to report it to the WCCHD at 512-943-3660. Williamson County Epidemiologists will be handling all contact tracing directly with families during the winter break.

If you test positive for COVID-19 during the winter break, please do not return to school on Monday, January 4 (staff) or on Wednesday, January 6 (students), unless you have completed the 10-day isolation period and are no longer showing symptoms.  For students, on Monday, January 4, or Tuesday, January 5, please notify your campus principal via e-mail of your positive case. A Hutto ISD nurse or staff member will contact you with further information and direction when schools reopen.

Holiday Travel
Hutto ISD follows the travel recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). To learn more about travel requirements following your winter break trip, visit:  https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/after-travel-precautions.html

Health Screening & Case/Symptom Notifications In Writing
On Monday, January 4, all staff should resume their daily health screening.

Before sending your child to school on Wednesday, January 6, parents should verify your child is symptom-free and has not tested positive for COVID-19 or been exposed to a positive COVID-19 case over the break.  If you are being tested for or have symptoms of COVID-19 on Tuesday, January 5, please stay home from school and notify your campus principal by email.

Again, Hutto ISD is asking for all student positive COVID cases to make direct contact via email to your respective campus principal on Monday, January 4 or Tuesday, January 5.

Hutto ISD will resume recording staff and student cases on the COVID-19 dashboard on Monday, January 4, 2021. https://www.hipponation.org/coviddashboard

For students who participate in extracurricular activities, please notify your coach or director and stay at home if you have COVID-19 symptoms or have tested positive. You must also contact Williamson County and Cities Health District and report your case at 512-943-3660.
