Hutto Memorial Stadium Ribbon Cutting Celebration Wrap-up
Honoring Hippo Nation’s Past, Present, and Future
Thanks to everyone who came out to the ribbon cutting event for the new Hutto
Memorial Stadium!
The official opening of Hutto Memorial Stadium is a momentous occasion for Hippo
Nation as the stadium recognizes our past, present, and future. The past is in the name
“Memorial” which honors brave citizens who have served our country. Presently, we
celebrate the new opportunities the state-of-the-art facility provides for our current
athletes and the technology students who operate the new audio and visual systems.
We look forward to the Hippos of the future who will one day take the field and fill the
stands.
Let’s come together in this place. Let’s do what this stadium allows us to do—support
our students in the greatest number possible in Hutto history!

and video feed all run by Hutto ISD video tech students - Specialty suites include a scout booth, public address system and timekeeping
booth, media booth, radio booths, coaches' booths, and hospitality booth - New concessions and restrooms for Home and Visitor side fans
Improved disability access facility-wide - Safety upgrades including security cameras, improved distribution of fans and
flow of attendees, fire alarms, and sprinkler system - Infrastructure upgrades to electrical, sewer, and stormwater control systems
Background
- The original football stadium was built in 1998 along with the construction of the
current Hutto High School. At the time Hutto ISD was a 3A school system with
less than 900 students. - Hutto ISD is now a 6A school system, the highest classification in the state, with
more than 9,000 students. - Renovations and construction of the stadium began in February of 2021.
- The Hutto Varsity Football team played its inaugural game on October 29, 2021.
- Hutto ISD Memorial Stadium is expected to be a premier option for teams
looking for neutral playoff sites which are expected to not only bring in additional
revenue to the district but also serve as a benefit to local business owners as
traveling fans dine in local restaurants, stay in local hotels, fill up their vehicles at
our convenience stores, and shop at our retail stores.
