• What is REACH?

The REACH [Ready for Early Access to College in Hutto] program is open to all students seeking a focused academic experience that will allow them the opportunity to graduate with both a high school diploma and an Associate’s Degree.

Students interested in the REACH program must apply for acceptance at the end of their 9th grade year. The student must make an application and a parent conference with their Counselor will also be required before acceptance in the REACH program can be finalized. Please ensure that your dual credit course is transferable to the college of your choice before enrolling in dual credit.

To fulfill the possibility of achieving an Associates of Arts Degree, the student must have Algebra 1 credit before their 9th grade year. Coursework sequencing is specific and begins the summer after the Freshmen year. A sample is below. Fees and transportation for summer classes will be the responsibility of the student.

Students enrolling in the REACH program will take a rigorous course of study enabling them to earn an associate degree from Temple College [TC] at the same time they complete their high school diploma. The Hutto ISD REACH program is an educational opportunity afforded to students via a partnership between Hutto ISD and TC. REACH offers a unique high school experience focused on academics with a cohort orientation. Interested students are expected to discuss this high school option with their parents/legal guardians before applying. Students are expected to answer essay questions in this application and a parent/student conference will be required for placement. Only original and complete applications will be accepted for consideration.
