PUBLIC MEETINGS REGARDING PROPOSED 2019-20 ATTENDANCE ZONES
Next fall, Hutto ISD will open its seventh elementary school, Doc Kerley Elementary.
When a new school opens, the district must redraw attendance zones. The last attendance zone change was prior to the 2016-17 school year when Howard Norman Elementary opened.
The district held multiple public information sessions to present possible attendance zones the last few weeks of December 2018. There was opportunity for questions and comments.
The sessions were:
Wednesday, December 5 - Nadine Johnson Elementary cafeteria
Monday, December 10 - Howard Norman Elementary cafeteria
Tuesday, December 11 - Hutto Middle School cafeteria
Monday, December 17 - Veterans' Hill Elementary cafeteria
In addition, a district-wide PTA Council presentation was made January 8, 2019.

Howard Norman Elementary, Hutto ISD’s sixth elementary school, opened fall of the 2016-17 school year.
A new school means attendance zones have to be redrawn in such a way to create balance among all schools.
Hutto ISD met with demographers and came up with three possible attendance zones for the 2016-17 school year.
A public meeting to discuss the attendance zone options was held Wednesday, January 27, at 6:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center (PAC) at Hutto High School.
On February 11, 2016, at its regularly scheduled board meeting, the Hutto ISD Board of Trustees selected Plan 1 as the new attendance zone boundaries for the 2016-17 school year.
The new zone maps for elementary and middle schools are attached. In addition, a cross reference street guide is also attached.
Information regarding transfers will be communicated beginning Monday, February 15.
Questions regarding the new attendance zones may be e-mailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
PLEASE NOTE: The next scheduled rezoning will take place prior to Hutto ISD opening elementary #7 for the 2019-20 school year.
