The goal of the Hutto ISD Parent and Family Engagement (PFE) program is to create and implement effective strategies that actively involve parents and the community as partners in enhancing students' academic performance. We are able to achieve our goal by 1) building capacity across all campuses and 2) providing direct support and services to families and the community.

Hello Hippo Nation! My name is Stephen Balderas, and I am one of the Parent Support Specialists for the District. I was born and raised a Hippo!
When I graduated from Hutto High School in 1994, my graduating class only had 38 students, and the entire population of Hutto was less than 700! To put that in perspective, one elementary campus today has more students than the entire population of Hutto had when I graduated. My wife, Cassandra, is also a Hutto HS graduate, and all of our six children have graduated from or are currently attending school in Hutto ISD. Along with our six children, we have a dog named Briggs and recently got a cat named Kleo. They fight like... well, cats and dogs. Faith, family, and football (Go Philly) are my favorite things, and I love cooking and eating good old Texas BBQ!
My roots are and always will be, in Hutto, and I feel lucky to serve in a community that means so much to me and my family.
