When to Keep Your Child Home

Use this quick guide to help determine when your student should stay home from school due to illness and when they may return.

Fever

Students should stay home when they have a fever. A student must be fever-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medication before returning to school.

Vomiting or Diarrhea

Students should stay home if they are vomiting or have diarrhea. They should be symptom-free before returning to school.

Communicable Diseases

If your student is diagnosed with a communicable or contagious disease, please notify the campus health office so the school can provide appropriate guidance.

Emergency Medical Care

If your student has a medical emergency or serious symptoms, seek medical care immediately and notify the campus health office as needed.
