To qualify for Hutto ISD's free 4-year-old Prekindergarten program, your student(s) must be 4 years old on or before September 1, 2026 (for the 26-27 school year). The student must also meet one of the following criteria and provide current documentation:
- Students whose first language is not English (student is unable to speak and comprehend the English language)
- Students who are educationally disadvantaged (eligible to participate in the national school lunch program)
- Students of active duty military personnel.
- Students of a member of the armed forces of the U.S., including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who was injured or killed while serving on active duty.
- Students who are currently or have ever been in foster care in the state of Texas following an adversary hearing.
- Students who are currently experiencing homelessness.
- Students of a person eligible for the Star of Texas Award Under Texas Government Code §3106.002, Texas Government Code §3106.003, or Texas Government Code §3106.004.
- Students of a certified classroom teacher, employed by Hutto ISD in the 2026-2027 school year, working in a classroom setting for at least 50% of the instructional day.
- Families must submit a new Student Enrollment form, to include the Prekindergarten Pre-Qualification Form, in order to determine eligibility for the free Prekindergarten program.
