Emergent Bilingual
Hutto ISD is committed to ensuring the academic success of all students, including Emergent Bilingual, through culturally responsive practices and bridging partnerships between school, home and community, leading to enhanced learning opportunities.
Hutto ISD provides guidance and support for students identified as Emergent Bilingual. Students have the opportunity to participate in a Dual Language or English as a Second Language educational program. After an initial language assessment, students are recommended for an educational program placement that best fits their language needs.

Quality Program Services
The Hutto ISD English as a Second Language Program provides intensive instruction to develop proficiency in the English language in listening, reading, speaking and writing. This is done while developing academic language and content knowledge. ESL teachers provide language acquisition strategies through differentiated instruction and flexible grouping of their students based on both linguistic and cognitive levels.
