Dual Language/DALE Program
Dual Accelerated Language Enrichment Program ¡DALE!
Siguiendo Adelante en el Programa de Lenguaje Dual
The Two-Way Dual Language Program offers the opportunity for native English speakers and native Spanish speakers to learn to read, write, and speak in both languages. Students of both language groups are integrated for most content instruction in an environment, which promotes language and social equality while supporting full bilingual proficiency for both native and non-native speakers of English. The program strives to foster an understanding and appreciation of other cultures, inspires self-esteem, and strengthens positive attitudes among students, their families, and the community.
Students in a two-way dual language program develop strong literacy skills in both English and Spanish as careful attention is paid to the development of bilingualism and biliteracy for all participants. Research has proven that students in dual language programs become great thinkers, gain the same results or better in academic subject areas and standardized testing, and develop high linguistic and academic proficiency in both languages.
