Welcome to Second Grade! I am so excited to teach and learn this year at Ray Elementary. My name is Katie Garcia, and I am a Hutto ISD alumna of many years ago. I loved going to school in Hutto, and many of the teachers I had inspired me to become an educator. I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a B.S. in Applied Learning and Development. This is my fifth year in education, and my second year teaching second grade. I believe every child is unique and learns in various ways- my goal is to use innovative ways of teaching to promote engagement and curiosity amongst students. I believe that communication between teachers and parents is very important- I hope to foster relationships with families, as we are advocates for the students at Ray.

I live in Georgetown with my husband, Louis, and two dogs, Bessy and Delta. I enjoy reading, shopping, and cooking. Football season is the best season- Hook 'Em and DC4L!
