Welcome to Hutto ISD’s 2021 Reach for Success Summer Academy! We are excited to be able to offer an excellent experience for students who want to accelerate their learning with high-quality options in spite of this year’s challenges with COVID-19.
For students who need accelerated learning, we are offering an in-person experience that will focus heavily on literacy and math at Kerley ES and Howard Norman ES for elementary-age students and at Hutto High School for next year’s 6th-8th grade students. Current 5th-grade students will get a chance to see Hutto HS during the summer academy! For elementary students who want to enrich or work on their own at home, we are offering an online experience accessible through Edgenuity’s Pathblazers program.
The Bilingual Program for Kindergarten and 1st graders will go to July 1st and the Special Education Extended School Year (ESY) program will be provided until July 25 only at Kerley ES and Hutto HS. The elementary online self-paced enrichment program will be available all summer long with virtual teacher support available at least through June 24th. All students will have access to bus transportation and a free lunch. A free breakfast will be provided at the elementary sites for in-person students.
High School students can retake a course through our Credit Recovery Program or prepare for the EOC STAAR exams. The program will begin Wednesday, June 2, and will end on Thursday, June 24, and a second additional credit recovery session will run June 28 through July 28th. Summer School is offered Mondays through Thursdays, with no school on Fridays, and the hours for students are 8:45 am - 12:45 pm with a break from July 5-9.
We know the 2020-21 school year has been challenging so we’re committed to tackling any COVID-19 learning losses while ensuring equitable outcomes for all students.
