The goal of the Hutto ISD Parent and Family Engagement(PFE) program is to successfully develop and implement programs and strategies to engage parents and the community as partners to continually improve the academic performance of students.
We are able to achieve our goal by 1) building capacity across all campuses and 2) providing direct support and services to families and the community.
You may contact one of our PFE Specialists at PFE@huttoisd.net or stop by and visit the team at one of the PFE Resource Centers in Hutto ISD. Please remember to subscribe and follow us on social media or visit our website for more information.

Parent Support Specialist

Hello Hippo Nation! My name is Stephen Balderas, and I am one of the Parent Support Specialists for the District. I was born and raised a Hippo! When I graduated from Hutto High School in 1994, my graduating class only had 38 students, and the entire population of Hutto was less than 700! To put that in perspective, one elementary campus today has more students than the entire population of Hutto had when I graduated. My wife, Cassandra, is also a Hutto HS graduate, and all of our six children have graduated from or are currently attending school in Hutto ISD. Along with our six children, we have a dog named Briggs and recently got a cat named Kleo. They fight like... well, cats and dogs. Faith, family, and football (Go Philly) are my favorite things, and I love cooking and eating good old Texas BBQ!
My roots are and always will be, in Hutto, and I feel lucky to serve in a community that means so much to me and my family.

(737) 327-7258 (ext. 7258)Hello everyone! I’m the Lead Parent Engagement Specialist for Hutto ISD, and I’m so happy to be a part of this amazing district and the Parent and Family Engagement Team!
I have been in education for 23 years, starting as a Jr. High and HS Science teacher in Missouri and Texas. Later, I made the transition to become a Gifted Coordinator, Middle Years Programme (IB) Coordinator, and finally an Instructional Coordinator/Coach. I have also served as a Mentor Director and Trainer in a local non-profit (Seedling).
My heart for education, children, and helping others has guided me through my career and life.
I have 2 sons, Evan and Grayden, who are my greatest joys, and 2 adorable rescue dogs.
When I have some extra time, I enjoy hiking, traveling, visiting historic and military sites and parks, collecting, experiencing new restaurants, amateur photography, and I’m an avid movie buff.
I love to meet new people, and I look forward to building and growing in Hutto ISD!
