Mr. Edmund Carter

It's great to be a part of Hippo Nation where we are all better together!  I coached and taught high school biology in Lovington, N.M for 9 1/2 years before moving to Plains, Texas. I taught for 2 1/2 more years and then became the middle school principal.  After spending 6 1/2 years in Plains, my family moved to Sundown, TX., where I spent 15 years as the middle school principal, and retired in summer of 2018.

My wife and I moved to the Austin area to be closer to our granddaughter.  After enjoying the retired life for one year, here I am, back in education, with a desire and committment to impact students' character growth and academic learning, and to make a difference at Hutto ISD. I bring 31 years of experience in education to my new role of middle school DAEP teacher.  I'm passionate about helping equip young people with the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully navigate through life, and am looking forward to contributing to a positive culture at RHA.

I believe that all students can achieve their personal and academic goals, and I am committed to making a positive impact on students' character growth and academic learning.
