Hello Students and Parents!
I'm Mr. McDowell and teach Art I, II, III at Farley Middle School. I graduated from The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston & Tufts University in 2004 with a Bachelors in Studio Art. I worked in Museum Education for 4 years at the MFA, Boston & MFA, Houston where I taught teachers how to bring Art into their core content classrooms. Being around all those teachers must have rubbed off, because that was my next step!
I have been teaching Art for 12 years (10 at the high school level; Art I-IV, AP, Broadcast, and Sports Video Production). This will be my 2nd year teaching middle school art, an I'm wildly excited to be at Farley Middle School!!
We will be:
-Using Google Classrooms starting the 3rd week of school.
-Using a LARGE variety of art materials to complete exercises and projects.
-Participating in Class Art Critique.
-Discussing Artists, Art Movements, and more about the History of Art.
