Ms. Elizabeth Crank

Hello Hippo Nation!

Welcome to my teacher website. My name is Ms. Crank. I am a native Texan and was fortunate enough to run track and cross-country at UT in college. I was inspired by my ELA teachers growing up to actively read engaging texts, write quick writes and essays concerning subjects that inspired me, and pursue what I was passionate about. I started teaching reading in Austin in 2013 and have experience teaching reading, writing, ELA, and ESL in area districts. Last year, in 2018, I was delighted to finish my Master's of English in Creative Writing and taught secondary English in LTISD and additionally edited and coached a colleague whom was writing a book. My thesis involved modern literature as well as classic authors such as Emerson; furthermore, the thesis was a series of essays about filtered light and running, of which I sought to attain an athletic scholarship one year, and in another attempted to qualify for the Olympic trials in 2010. English IV and English IV M are my favorite subjects to teach. It is rewarding to be able to educate and direct the leaders and college students of the future. Go Hippos!
