    Chromebooks

Various dates have been scheduled for secondary students to check out Chromebooks for the year. Additional information and checkout dates can be found here.

Students who have completed and been approved for enrollment from any middle school, Hutto 9th Grade Center, or Hutto High School can pick up their chromebook at any of the following times and locations:

    School specific chromebook distribution events:

    FMS 6th Grade Camp - Wednesday, July 19, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
    FMS 6th Grade Meet the Teacher - Wednesday, August 9, 5:30 p.m.
    NGC Fish Camp (Freshman Orientation) - Saturday, July 22, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
    HMS 6th Grade Hippo Camp -  Wednesday, July 26, 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Chromebook distributions open to students from any secondary campus (ex: a High School student can pick up a chromebook at a HMS or FMS location):

    Back to School Rally Saturday, July 29, 9 a.m. - 11 a.m.
    Thursday, August 3 at HMS from 1 - 5 p.m.
    Friday, August 4 at FMS from 8:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.
    Monday, August 7 at HMS from 8:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.
    Tuesday, August 8 at FMS from 1 - 5 p.m.

If not picked up at these times, students will receive a Chromebook at school. We encourage people to pick it up during the above times for fewer interruptions after school starts.

Hutto ISD strongly recommends the annual “optional device insurance” to provide parents with the peace of mind of knowing they will not be burdened with large out of pocket expenses for uncovered repairs, replacement, or loss. The District has created a self-insurance fund to offset the cost of repairs, maintenance, and device replacement. Without the optional device insurance, parents are charged for the cost of repairs for accidental damage. For example, a cracked screen is $156 dollars and a total device loss such as from a water spill is $300. For more information or to purchase the device insurance online, see this link.
The optional device insurance is only $26 for the whole school year.

Note: The optional device insurance is good for one school year. If you bought insurance last year, please be sure to purchase it again for the new school year to maintain coverage.

*For the 2023-24 school year, the District will use a new system, A LINQ Solution, for online payments and meal applications. You must go to https://linqconnect.com and make a new account in order to continue making payments towards your students’ meals. To submit a meal application, click on “Sign up today!” to begin the process of making a new account and be sure to have the following information to successfully link your student(s) to your account:

    • First Name
      Last Name
      Date of Birth

Because of this change, parents are unable to make payments in the previous system. Balances in the old system have been transferred to the new system.

For further questions, please call the Child Nutrition Department at 512-759-2164 or the support line for A LINQ Solution at 916-467-4700, option 2.

    Transportation

Hutto ISD uses the Traversa routing system. If your child needs transportation, please create an account for Ride 360.

Please review with your students the bus rider and walker handbooks.

If you have any questions, you can contact our Transportation Department at (512)759-2105 or Transportation@huttoisd.net.

    Parent Communication System, ParentSquare

Hutto ISD uses ParentSquare for school communication. Parents have the option to enroll for email, text and/or app notifications in their selected language. ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent, using their preferred email address and phone number.

We encourage parents to access their accounts so they can download the mobile app and update their language preferences. Check out more information online at hipponation.org/parentsquare and watch videos and find helpful how-to articles at the Parents ParentSquare Guide
