Hutto ISD voters approved a $194 million bond proposal on May 4th that includes projects in safety & security, growth, and equity. The district also created a Bond Oversight Committee to oversee the May 2019 Bond.

Upgrades to Department of Health and Safety server capacity and retrofit/additions projects concerning intrusion detection, fire alarm systems, access controls, security cameras systems, and communication systems.
Growth

The City of Hutto has experienced an estimated 50% increase in total population since 2010, growing from 14,000 to nearly 30,000 residents. Hutto ISD’s last bond was in 2008 when the student population was less than 5,000. Since then, the district has added more than 3,000 students. Projects identified in this bond address the anticipated increase of 2,500 students that will attend Hutto ISD over the next 5 years.

New Middle School #3 Construct new 1200 student Middle School on district-owned property adjacent to Kerley ES to support growth west of TX SH-130 and along the 130 corridor. Site will be organized similarly to HMS/CCES & FMS/RES. Design will be a new prototype, approximately 160,000 s.f.

Hutto Elementary School Modernization
Demolish original 15,427 s.f. classroom building. Construct new, two-story, 26,000 s.f. addition to house 21 classrooms, 1 music room, and administrative space. Major renovation of existing 12,264 s.f. building into a larger media center and 4 larger classrooms. Major renovations of existing 9,737 s.f. serving, kitchen, and administration building. Minor renovations of remaining 27,500 s.f. to improve dining area, gymnasium, and classroom wing constructed in 1990s.
