Cancellation of STAAR Testing for the Remainder of the 2019-2020 School Year
Given the impact of COVID-19, the annual academic assessment requirements for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year have been suspended. All State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) administrations scheduled for April, May, and June 2020 are cancelled. This includes all STAAR 3-8 and EOC assessments, as well as STAAR Alternate 2. Click here to see the communication from Governor Abbott regarding the cancellation of STAAR testing.
Hutto Independent School District uses a variety of assessment tools to measure the success of the district's instructional programs, including local assessments, District Common Based Assessments, classroom observations, and other assessment measures. The district administers all Texas assessment program assessments, to include the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR), the Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System (TELPAS), and the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) as appropriate.
