About Me

My name is Claudia Cook. I am the campus instructional coach.  The 2021-22 school year is my 19th year in education and my 6th year with Hutto ISD.  I have taught kinder, PreK, 1st, 5th, and I have been a Dyslexia Interventionist and Reading Interventionist at the elementary and middle school level.  Ever since I was young, I knew that teaching was my passion.  In high school, I was in the Texas Association of Future Educators and tutored elementary students in reading after school.  

My goal is to support our teachers in all areas of classroom instruction so that together we can help our children grow, excel, and challenge themselves. 

My education

I graduated with a BA in English from the University of Texas at Austin in 2003 with a minor in Mexican-American Studies.  In 2011, I earned a Master of Education in Advanced Literacy Instruction from Concordia University Austin.  I am certified as a PK-4 Bilingual teacher, 4-8 Generalist teacher, Reading Specialist and Special Education teacher.  I am currently working on earning a master's degree in Special Education and educational diagnostician certification from Lamar University.

My family

My husband and I have two children who attend Ray Elementary.  Our eldest is in 4th grade and our youngest is in 2nd grade.  We have two Boxer furbabies who enjoy lounging when they are not doing zoomies in the backyard.  We enjoy going to the movies, fishing, and spending time together outdoors.

¿Quién soy?

Me llamo Claudia Cook.  Apoyo a los maestros de Ray en todas areas de instruccioin para que juntos podramos ayudar a nuestros estudiantes crecer y tener exito..  El año escolar 2021-2022 es my decimonoveno año como educadora y my sexto año con el distrito de Hutto. He enseñado kínder, prekinder, primero, quinto, y he sido intervencionista de la dislexia y de la lectura en la primaria y secundaria.  Desde que era pequeña, sabía que quería ser maestra.  Cuando estaba en la secundaria, fui miembra de la Asociación de Futuros Educadores de Texas y fui tutora para alumnos en la primaria.

Mis estudios

Recibí mi licenciatura en inglés de la Universidad de Texas en Austin en el 2003 y mi maestría en educación de la lectura de la Universidad de Concordia en Austin en el 2011. Estoy certificada como maestra bilingue de Pre-Kinder a cuarto, generalista de 4o a 8o grado, especialista en la lectura, y maestra de la educacion especial.  Actualmente estoy trabajando en una maestria en Educacion especial.

My familia

My marido y yo tenemos dos hijos quienes asisten a la escuela Ray.  Nuestra hija está en cuarto grado y nuestro hijo está en segundo.  Tenemos dos perros Boxer que se la pasan acostados cuando no andan corriendo y jugando.  Nos gusta ir al cine, ir de pesca, y pasar tiempo juntos al aire libre.
