My Background

I was born in the city of Odessa, Texas and lived in the West Texas area until 2015 when we moved to Pflugerville, TX. I graduated with high honors from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin in 2008. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Child and Family Studies with a minor in History. I graduated from Western Governers University with my Masters of Science in Curriculum and Instruction in June 2021. This is my 12th year of teaching (3 years in Kindergarten, 5 years in 4th grade, 1 year in 5th grade and 2 years in 2nd grade.) I am excited to be back in 4th grade this year teaching English Language Arts and Reading and Social Studies. 

My Family

I have been married to my best friend, Andrew, for 16 years and we have two awesome kids. I have a 7th grader and a 5th grader. I have 4 cats named Pumpkin, Percy, Poppy and Opal June LePurr and a Basset Hound named Luna Lovegood.

My Favorites

My favorite book series is the Harry Potter series by JK Rowling but I'm also a fan of anything Kate DiCamillo writes. I collect owls, Harry Potter memorabilia and my favorite colors are yellow and teal. I love playing on my XBOX in my free time but I spend more time reading than anything! I think donkeys are one of the cutest animals on earth, followed closely by river otters. 

My Philosophy

I believe that every child that walks through my door becomes "MY KID" and that it's my job to make them feel loved, safe and cared about. I believe that every child deserves to have their needs met emotionally, socially and academically so that they can grow.
