About Teacher: **********************************************************************************************************

I am pleased to work with your child. This will be my 26th year as a certified teacher in Texas, primarily the areas of Dyslexia, Reading and Intervention. This is my 7th yr. at NJE as Dyslexia Therapist. I also provide testing of students who may enter the program. Other campuses previously served are Howard Norman and Veterans' Hill. I have enjoyed coaching UIL.

When not at school, I enjoy gardening, collecting, reading and traveling with family. I grew up in the northeast where education and the arts were very important in my family. I later moved to Texas. I am married and have 2  wonderful sons.

For additional studies about Dyslexia and related areas, I completed the diagnostician program at Midwestern State University. I am also a member of the Academic Language Therapist Association (ALTA), Certified Academic Language Practitioner (CALP), and Wilson Certified Teacher (WDP).

Students in our district use Wilson Reading an evidence-based program, with access to supplemental programs. Students in the NJE program use Google Read & Write and the C- pen, a human-voiced reading "smart assistive technology". C-pens were provided through grants from Hutto Education Foundation (2018, 2019). Thank you HEF !
