Hello and welcome to Kindergarten!  I am excited to be your teacher this year and can't wait to get started learning together. 

This is my 13th year of teaching and my 4th year at Nadine Johnson Elementary.  I am a Texas State Graduate and love being an elementary school teacher. I have taught Kindergarten through Fourth Grade and am very excited to be back in Kindergarten this year.  Kindergarten is a crucial year for developing the primary skills that form the foundation for reading, writing, counting, and social interaction. I can't wait to get started learning and flourishing with your child.  

Some of my favorite things to do are reading, hiking, and spending time with my family.  My oldest daughter, Allie, and her husband, Ricky, are expecting twins any day now.  I cannot wait to become a Gigi for the first time!  We are going to have a lot of fun this year.  My youngest daughter, Emily, and her soon-to-be fiance, Jake, live nearby.  I love getting to spend time with them finding lots of outdoor activites to do.   Emily has always been my #1 hiking buddy. I also have two very, spoiled dogs. Ginger is my high-maintenance Dachshund and Khloe is my easy-going Dorkie (Dachshund and Yorkie mix).  You will probably hear lots of stories about them since they are like my kids now that my children have grown. 

I strive to get students excited about learning! I want to create like long-learners with a passion for knowledge.  I believe students should be empowered to make engaging choices in their education that will create a desire to learn all that they can and even more!  It is important to me that we work together to accomplish this goal and create a safe and happy learning environment for your child.  Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, comments, or concerns on the Class Dojo or through email at michelle.krejci@huttoisd.net. Some of my favorite things to do when I am not teaching are hiking, reading, and exploring small Texas Towns (insprired by The Daytripper).  I also love watching college football in the fall (although we will see how it goes this year).  I keep up with the Texas Longhorns, Baylor Bears, and Texas Tech Red Raiders.  In the spring, I follow the Lady Baylor Bears basketball team.   

Please remember we are a team, and I will do everything I can to ensure that your child has a successful year in Kindergarten. I know that there is a lot of apprehension this year with the concerns about Covid-19.  Please know that I will work to keep your child safe and comfortable at school.  I am a strong believer in communication and welcome your notes, emails, and phone calls when needed. I want to make this year a positive start to your child's education and for all the years to come!
