Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Tomlinson

Welcome to 6th Grade! My name is Katrina Tomlinson and I am excited for the 2018-19 school year.  The transition into middle school can be scary and exciting and I want to work closely with parents and students to make sure this year is the best one yet. This my 5th year in Hutto and my 11th year teaching English Language Arts.

I was born in West Texas in a small town called Fort Stockton. My family made its way to the Dallas area via New Mexico and that is where I lived the majority of my life.  I graduated from Texas State University in 2006 with a teacher certification and a degree in english.  That same year I married my husband who was in the Air Force. We traveled to our first duty station in Arizona and spent the next 10 years living in 4  different states: Arizona, California, Oklahoma and Nebraska. I feel so blessed to have been able to teach so many different types of children from different walks of life and experiences. In 2014 my husband separated from the military and we returned home to Texas and moved to the wonderful community of Hutto. I love it here and am so proud to be a Hippo!!

My husband's name is Robert. We've been married for 12 years. He started in the Air Force as an F16 mechanic and cross trained into network security. He currently works as a surveyor and is going to school to get his degree in computer science.

We have a beautiful 8 year old daughter named Kennedy who just started 3rd grade at Ray Elementary along with a precious furbaby, our dog Lacy.
