Degrees and Certifications:
Hi! My name is Bre’ Stafford. I am excited to be working with you and your child this 2018-2019 school year. It is going to be an exciting year of learning and adventures! I thought you would like to know a little bit about me. I live in Round Rock with my dachshund, Dixie, and I am an only child. This is my second year teaching 8th grade U.S. History at Hutto Middle School.
I grew up in a small town called Gonzales, Texas (the birthplace of Texas freedom) where I attended Gonzales High School. I graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies specializing in 4th-8th grade Language Arts and Social Studies. I am currently pursuing a master's in Principalship at Texas State University.
I am very passionate about the success of youth. Establishing good classroom discipline is essential to each child’s success, confidence and well-being. Every child should feel that the classroom environment is safe and secure; free from all threats of physical or emotional harm. In addition, it is important that each child learn to develop self-discipline and good work habits, to resolve conflicts peacefully, and to think independently. I expect the students to be respectful, be responsible, and be safe. Our classroom will focus on positive behaviors with lots of positive reinforcement. Students need recognition not only for positive reinforcement, but also for building self-esteem and self-worth. All students will receive praise when it is appropriate; good behavior is always worth encouraging and taking notice. I have a love for History! I want to bring that same love out of my students. We will explore the early foundations of U.S History, power through the American Revolution, and observe the stages of the Civil War and Reconstruction. It will be great!
