Welcome to first grade!  My name is Cori Aiken and I will be your child’s teacher this year.  This is my 3rd year teaching in Hutto and I am excited for our year together.

This special age group is so eager and willing to learn that it makes teaching a pleasure!  Already at 6, children are aware that they have individual strengths and weaknesses.  My goal is for each child to feel successful, confident, and trusting of his or her own capabilities.  Knowing that they are respected and valued by adults and their peers will help build self-confidence and self-esteem.  This will encourage academic achievement, as well as create a positive, cooperative attitude toward others.

I will need your help to accomplish this goal.  We must communicate and work together to meet your child’s needs.
