Mrs. Ryan Winkelmann
In addition to my Hutto Elementary family, I also have a little family at home as well. Pictured to the left is my husband, Mack and my son, Marshall.
Mack and I both grew up in Taylor, not too far from Hutto. We love that we are surrounded by our family and friends. Some of my hobbies/pass times include: watching football (Hook 'em and Go Cowboys), reading for pleasure and to learn, enjoying the outdoors, playing any type of game, hanging out with my family and friends, and most importantly - soaking up time as a family in this very fast-paced and busy world.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master's degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. I served as an educator in NorthEast ISD in San Antonio for 7 years as a 4th grade teacher, reading coach, and assistant principal. In 2014, I was welcomed to Hippo Nation to serve as assistant principal at Hutto Elementary. This will be my 16th year in education and my 9th year proudly serving HES. The friendly and welcoming atmosphere I walked into 9 years ago still stands today. The staff and community continue to pour their hearts into doing what is best for our children.
Our staff and students strive to achieve the Hippo Way on a daily basis. Every morning the students join together in shouting out - Be respectful, responsible, and safe! Give it! Own it! Live it! Goooo Hippos! As I stated above, I consider it an honor to serve the students and members of this wonderful community.
