Degrees and Certifications:
Dr. Tonesha Holland
I am so honored to serve the community of Nadine Johnson Elementary as its campus principal. I look forward to working closely with this amazing community to truly impact students' academics, their character, and their commitment to their community by inspiring excellence in all that we do. My own children have attended NJES since we moved to Hutto in 2016. That is because I believe in the staff of this campus and their ability to educate and bring out the best in their students.
Dr. Tonesha Holland, a Louisiana native, began her educational career 18 years ago. She spent 13 total years in the classroom gaining experience through teaching middle school language arts and social studies, elementary special education, and high school English. As a hippo, Dr. Holland has been a classroom teacher, department chair, assistant principal, associate principal, and now principal. She prides herself on working diligently to determine the potential of all students, staff, and parents in order to help them see that potential in themselves and develop it to find the leader inside. She believes that great schools begin with a positive school culture and climate, which leads to improved academic achievement, morale, and self-esteem.
Dr. Holland received her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from the University of Louisiana-Monroe. She attended the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor from 2017-2020, where she received her Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership and her superintendent certification.
