Hutto ISD strongly recommends the annual "optional device insurance" to provide parents with peace of mind, ensuring they are not burdened with large out-of-pocket expenses for uncovered repairs, replacements, or losses. The District has created a self-insurance fund to offset the cost of repairs, maintenance, and device replacement. Without the optional device insurance, parents are charged for the cost of repairs for accidental damage. For example, a cracked screen costs $156, and a total device loss, such as from a water spill, is $300. For more information or to purchase the device insurance online, see this link.
The optional device insurance costs $50 for the whole school year but is available for $25 if purchased before Labor Day.
Note: The optional device insurance is valid for one school year. If you purchased insurance last year, please be sure to purchase it again for the new school year to maintain coverage.
