Enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year is now open. All students, new and returning, must complete online enrollment. Click here to enroll.

Attendance notifications will be sent via Skyward Family Access. Absence notes can be submitted via: 

• Skyward Family Access

• Email your campus. All email addresses can be found online.

  • Emailed notes must come from the parent email address on file and include: date(s) of absence, period(s) absent, and student ID number

• Notes can be sent with your student to the campus.

  • Paper notes must include date(s) of absence, period(s) absent, student ID number, and parent signature

School supply lists for each grade level can be found at hipponation.org/schoolsupplies. Students in grades 6-12 will receive information regarding school supplies from their teachers on the first day of school.

Students who have completed and been approved for enrollment from any middle school, Hutto 9th Grade Center, or Hutto High School can pick up their Chromebook at any of the following times and locations:

• Farley Middle School 6th Grade Camp - July 28, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. 
• Hutto Middle School 6th Grade Camp - July 28, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• Gus Almquist Middle School 6th Grade Camp - July 28, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• Hutto High School Library - July 29, 9 a.m. to Noon

Newly enrolled secondary students above 6th grade can come to the Hutto High School Library event above. New 6th graders can also come to these events if they don't get Chromebooks at their camps.

If not picked up at these times, students will receive a Chromebook at school. We encourage people to pick it up during the above times for fewer interruptions after school starts.

We are dedicated to ensuring that all our students have access to nutritious meals throughout the upcoming school year. To simplify and expedite the process, we encourage families to complete the Application for Free and Reduced-Price School Meals online. These online applications will be accessible starting on July 15, 2025 providing a convenient way to apply.

Hutto ISD uses ParentSquare for school communication. Parents have the option to enroll for email, text and/or app notifications in their selected language. ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent, using their preferred email address and phone number.

The Texas Department of State Health Services requires all students to be cleared through the school health office for compliance with state immunization requirements for school children. Students who are delinquent on required vaccines must obtain needed vaccines and be cleared by the school health office prior to starting classes.

Shot records may be submitted to your campus nurse via email or in-person beginning August 5. For more regarding immunization requirements and exemptions, including instructions on how to submit an exemption request to the Texas Department of Health, visit the Texas Department of State Health Services website.

HEALTH RECORDS & MEDICATIONS

Student health records may be submitted to your campus nurse via email or in-person beginning August 4. Nurses will also be in attendance at Meet the Teacher Nights.

Medications must be turned into the campus by a parent or guardian. Students are not allowed to bring medications to school, prescription or over-the-counter. Medication administration authorization forms may be found on our website under Health Services Forms.

PRIVATE DUTY NURSES

All private duty nurses must register with the school district, submit to a background check, and complete fingerprint screening. Parents/guardians must complete a private duty nursing agreement form and submit all medical orders to the campus nurse.

Hutto ISD uses the Traversa routing system. If your child needs transportation, please create an account for the SMARTtag Parent App. 

Please review the bus rider and walker handbooks with your student.

Emergency drills for the following are performed multiple times throughout the year. If in a true emergency, the district will notify parents via email and text.

Standard Response Protocol (SRP)

Hutto ISD administration and staff worked closely with the Hutto ISD Police Department, Hutto Police Department, Hutto Fire and Rescue, and neighboring districts reviewing our emergency preparedness plan. While Hutto ISD still has an extensive emergency preparedness plan in place that trains staff in safety and security for their campus, HISD has also adopted the Standard Response Protocol (SRP), “i love you guys,” which focuses on the classroom response to an incident at school.

The program is based on four actions that can be used in a variety of events.  SRP standardizes the vocabulary so all stakeholders can understand the response and status of the event. For students, this provides continuity of expectations and actions throughout their educational career. For teachers, this becomes a simpler process to train and drill. For first responders, the common vocabulary and protocols establish a greater predictability that persists through the duration of an incident. Parents can easily understand the practices and can reinforce the protocol. Additionally, this protocol enables rapid response determination when an unforeseen event occurs, and allows for a more predictable series of actions as an event unfolds.
