Accommodation Requests
College Board has a separate process for accommodations than the state does. Accommodations are not received automatically because you have accommodation for state testing. Accommodations must be approved prior to the test administration by College Board. You cannot receive accommodations that have not been approved. Doing so would invalidate your scores on that test.
-
Parents must complete the Request for College Board Accommodations form. This form is required to apply for accommodations.
-
The Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) Coordinator at Hutto High School will use the student's 504 plan or IEP to request accommodations from College Board.
-
Once the request has been submitted, it may take up to 7 weeks for a decision to be made.
-
One a decision from College Board has been made, the SSD Coordinator will receive a decision letter via an online portal. Students receive a decision letter via USPS from College Board
-
Accommodation approvals are good for up to one year following the student's graduation. You do not need to re-apply each year!
Waiving Your College Board Accommodations
There may be a time where you would like to waive specific accommodations for a test administration. In order to do so, College Board requires a signed letter from a parent/guardian waiving the accommodation. HHS must turn in the letter with the students' test materials in order for the materials to be scored. Please email the signed letter to the HHS SSD Coordinator
The letter must include the following information:
- Parent/Guardian Name + Student's Name
- Student's AP ID number (AP exam only)
- Student's College Board SSD number
- Statement indicating which accommodation(s) you would like to waive
- The test and date of the test that you would like to have the accommodation(s) waived
- Parent signature
You can use this template to submit to the HHS SSD Coordinator.
