Financial Aid

In accordance with Texas Education Code (TEC), §28.0256, beginning with the class of 2022, each student must do one of the following in order to graduate:

Complete and submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA);
Complete and submit a Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA); or
Submit a signed opt-out form.

To fulfill the graduation requirement, students must complete financial aid for the year that coincides with the year the student plans to start college. Example: The class of 2025 must complete the 2025-26 FAFSA form.

Your FAFSA must be PROCESSED to be considered complete.

To send proof of completion of FAFSA,

Log back into studentaid.gov using your FSA ID.
From the dashboard, scroll down to the "My Activity" section and select "2025-26 FAFSA Form".
Once there, you will see a "Status Tracker". Scroll until you see a blue button that says "FAFSA Submission Summary". Select it.
The page will open with the submission summary. In the upper right corner, there is a button that says "Print FAFSA Submission Summary".
Save page 1 of the FAFSA Submission Summary as a pdf.
Email page 1 of the Submission Summary to hhs.collegeandcareer@huttoisd.net.

Until this proof of completion is provided, your financial aid graduation requirement is incomplete.
