Charge Policy

Charge Policy

Hutto ISD follows National School Lunch Program guidelines for meal account charges and alternative meals when a student’s meal account has a negative balance.

If your student has a negative meal account balance, they may be subject to receiving an alternative meal after reaching the district’s meal charge limit.

Meal Charge Limit

Students in Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade may charge up to five meals on their account.

Alternative Meal

After the charge limit is reached, an alternative meal will be offered. The student has the option to decline the alternative meal.

What Is Included in the Alternative Meal?

  • Deli-style sandwich
  • Fresh vegetable
  • Fruit
  • Milk

A La Carte Items

Students will not be allowed to charge any a la carte items.
