Mrs. Burtt
  •      I grew up in Jarrell and went to Tarleton State University, where I earned a Bachelor of Science.  When I got married to my husband, Brian, we moved to Hutto because we loved the small-town feel of the community.  We have two Boxers, June Bug and Buddy, who we adopted from Austin Boxer Rescue and are a part of our growing family.  I am also the proud mother of our almost 4-year-old little girl, Callie.

This will be my thirteenth year of teaching.  I taught for five years at Florence Elementary.  While there I taught 4th and 5th-grade Resource for two years and 5th grade for three years.  I became a hippo seven years ago when I joined the fabulous 5th-grade team at Hutto Elementary.  This year will be my second year serving students and our campus as the Reading Interventionist and I am super excited.

I hope in the course of the year that I can help your child love reading and believe in themselves enough to try new things and challenge themselves to learn more.  I realize that teaching your child is a huge privilege and responsibility.  I am dedicated and passionate about ensuring that each student is motivated and safe so they can learn and grow.

I think it is critical for us, as influences in your student’s life, to stay in contact and help each other to ensure your student’s success.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns, or to schedule a conference.  My conference time is daily from 1:00 to 1:40.  I am also available by phone (512-759-2094) or by email (
