Self-Service Password Reset Tool
This document is designed to provide instructions and support for staff members to use the self-service password reset tool provided by Hutto ISD.
While self-enrollment in this tool is optional, failure to self-enroll with prevent the staff member from being able to reset their own password for Hutto ISD device and email access after their password expires or is forgotten.
Passwords set using this tool will be applied to all Hutto ISD devices and email.
Self-Enrollment Procedure
1. In a web browser, go to https://password.huttoisd.net
2. Log in with your email address for the user name, and your current Windows password.
NOTE: Do not use the “Claim Account” button, your account has already been assigned to you. If you do not remember your Windows password, you will first have to contact the Hutto ISD Technology Helpdesk for support. hipponation.org/technology
3. Answer at least three of the twenty questions offered, but make sure you will remember the answers you provide. They will be the answers you’ll need for the self-service password resets. All the answers must be unique from each other, and must be at least three characters long. Once you have answered as many of the questions as you want, click the “Save” button in the lower right corner of the browser.
4. That’s it, you’re done! Feel free to close the browser tab!
Self-Service Password Reset (if password is known)
1. Open a web browser, go to https://password.huttoisd.net
2. Log in with your email address for the user name, and your current Windows password.
3. On the left side of the screen, click on the “Profiles” button.
4. Click on the “Change Password” button at the top.
5. Enter your current password, and a new password twice. Please note that this password will be used for your Windows, printer, email, technology work order, and Chrome accounts.
Self-Service Password Reset (if password is forgotten/expired)
NOTE: This procedure works from a personal device or a District provided device.
1. Open a web browser and go to: https://password.huttoisd.net
2. Click on the “Need Help?” link to the right above the username and password field.
3. Click on the “Forgot My Password” button.
4. Enter your username in the field. This will always be your full email address. Check the box that indicates you are not a robot, and click “Next”.
5. The system will ask you two random questions of the ones you completed during the self-enrollment process. Provide the correct answers and click “Next”.
6. Provide a new password. Please note that this password will be used for your Windows, printer, email, technology work order, and Chrome accounts.
Congratulations, you’re done! Your password has been set for all Hutto ISD devices and email. If you are trying to get into your email or a Chrome device, you may need to wait a minute or two for the new password to replicate to Google.Security Information
At no time will any member of the Hutto ISD Technology Department be able to access the answers provided using this tool. While the questions and answers are stored in the system, the answers themselves are encrypted and cannot be decrypted by the Technology Department staff, even upon request.
