What is Dual Credit?
The College for All concept enables high school students to earn college credits prior to their high school graduation. Dual enrollment courses are college-level courses taken by high school students to receive high school and college credit. Students may earn dual credit for classes approved by the Board of Trustees.
While enrolled in the Dual Credit program, your student is considered an adult Temple College student. Temple College instructors are unable to discuss student information with anyone other than the student due to privacy laws. We know that you want the best for your student and encourage your participation. Nevertheless, we must ask that every parent support Temple College’s procedures and policies as well.
Registration for dual credit and college credit classes must be approved by the student’s HS Counselor and parent. The Temple College Registration deadlines for these classes are earlier than HS deadlines and must be adhered to. The student must be TSIA Ready for all classes at Temple College.
College-level courses may or may not transfer to the college of their choice after high school. It is the responsibility of the student/parent to check for all transfer of course credit with Temple College and their University. The student’s Temple College transcript must be sent to the HS Registrar upon completion of all dual enrollment coursework.
