AP Language and Composition is the study of rhetoric and argumentation in non fiction. Throughout this course, students will learn to read and write rhetorically, to break down arguments, to evaluate the validity and accurancy and synthesize sources, and to write clearly and coherently. Ap Language and Composition is the equivalent to a one semester college course in composition, required at the freshman level. Students who are interested in receiving college credit for the course will take the AP Language and Composition exam in May. Students must receive a score of 3 or higher in order to receive college credit at any state university. Requirements vary for private institutions.
