• This is a centralized spot for information for Dr. Plocher's English IV classes. It is not a substitute for Google Classroom, Remind, or checking your email.

This course is designed to enhance students’ ability to read, comprehend, analyze and respond to a variety of texts and other media, both fictional and nonfictional. Our work will improve writing and research skills, enhance vocabulary and sentence structure in writing, and integrate reading into students’ lives. This class builds on previous courses to improve college, career, and military readiness for future graduates of Hutto High School.

Google classroom is our primary tool for delivering resources and assignments. Course codes for each section are in the syllabus. Please join the correct class, and if you transfer to a different section, please switch to the new section. (This makes tracking your grades and attendance much easier for everybody.)

We use TurnItIn for many assignments. TurnItIn's basic function is to detect similarity and alert students and teachers to plagiarism, but it has other resources, too! Assignments submitted to TurnItIn will get feedback in TurnItIn. You can (and should) go in and check past assignments to see why you earned the score you did.
