Mr. Kyle Ruschhaupt
The 2019-2020 school year will be my 20th year of teaching. This is also my fourth year at Farley Middle School, having previously taught at Vista Ridge High School for twelve years, and Running Brushy Middle School for four years, both in the Leander ISD. I earned a Bachelor of Secondary Music from Texas State University where I studied trumpet with Jack Laumer, performed in the Wind Ensemble, and was an instructor for the marching band. I also attended the University of Texas where I studied trumpet with Raymond Crisara, and was in the Longhorn Band and Symphony Band, both under the direction of Paula Crider and Glenn Richter.
I recently received a Master's in Educational Administration from Lamar University.
I have been blessed to conduct some wonderful ensembles in some amazing venues during my career. Some highlights are the Midwest Clinic in Chicago, and four times at the Texas State Marching Contest in San Antonio.
As Director of Bands at Farley, I am happy to answer any questions or concerns, so please do not hesitate to contact myself or any of the other band directors. My teaching responsibilities are Wind Ensemble, beginner trumpet, french horn, and tuba. I also assist with Concert Band, Symphonic Winds, and the Jazz Band.
I have a passion for music because it changed my life. The skills I learned are what I hope to instill in your child. Skills like perseverance, team work, goal-setting, expression, hard work, and organization are some of the few benefits to being in band at Farley. We like to think of ourselves as a family so we want what is best for your child.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time watching my kids perform in their HS band program, doing projects around my house, vacationing, watching baseball, and spending time outdoors.
My conference period is 8th period. Please email me if you would like to set up an appointment.
