• Mentoring

The goal of Hutto ISDs Mentoring Program is to connect young people with caring adult mentors, because all children deserve the opportunity to achieve their potential.

    What is mentoring?
Mentoring is a structured and trusting relationship that brings young people together with caring individuals who offer guidance, support and encouragement aimed at developing competence and character of the student.

    Types of mentoring:
    Traditional- one on one
    Group- one to four
    Team- one to fourteen
    Peer- youth to youth

To become a mentor you must:
    1. Be at least 16 years of age with a valid ID. Those between 16 and 18 years of age MUST be Hutto ISD students.
    2. Register to be a Hutto ISD Volunteer/Mentor on the link to the left

Training sessions are held at the Hutto ISD Administration Building, unless otherwise noted: 200 College Street, Hutto, Tx 78634

Once you have completed these steps, you will be strategically matched with a mentee and can begin mentoring sessions. The time commitment is 30-45 minutes a week for the full school year. Please remember to maintain your virtual volunteer account by logging in your mentoring hours weekly.
