Mr. Cory Denena

Mr. Denena is the current director of Guitar for both FMS and HMS. He had known since he was in middle school that he wanted to be a choir director. He loves inspiring students through music and believes that music makes the world a better place. He feels that studying music, playing instruments, and participating in a musical ensemble is something that everyone should experience. He is in his fourth year at Farley Middle School, teaching choral music and general music classes. The Farley choirs are known for their high level of musical performance and great scores at UIL contests. Mr. Denena has been a music educator for 25 years and has sung in and directed choirs at all levels, including at university and professional levels. In addition to many years working in Texas public schools, Mr. Denena spent 12 years living and working as an educator in Mexico and in Ecuador. He also teaches private voice lessons, plays the guitar, and writes songs. He holds a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in music, as well as a master's degree in Educational Leadership.  He lives in Hutto, Texas with his wife Aide, and his son Demian.
