Instructions for Logins
Skyward Family Access accounts are created for every parent and guardian in the district.
Where do I go to log in to Skyward Family Access?
Please access Skyward Family Access at the following link:
- What is my username/login ID?
Your username is assigned to you by the system automatically when you enroll a new student. It is typically the following format:
firstname.lastname (example: christopher.smith (period between first and last name)
You may also have numbers following your username, such as christopher.smith1
If you do not know your username, click Forgot Your Login/Password? link on the Skyward Family Access home page. You will be asked to enter your email address and your username/login ID will be emailed to you, along with a link that will allow you to reset your password.
- What is my password?
Your password is assigned to you by the system automatically. If you do not remember your password, click Forgot Your Login/Password? link on the Skyward Family Access home page. You will be asked to enter your email address and your username/login ID will be emailed to you, along with a link that will allow you to reset your password.
- If I am a HISD staff member AND a parent, can I use my HISD username and password to access my Family Access account?
Yes, if your Parent and your Staff accounts are correctly linked together. You can attempt to login to Family Access with your HISD username and password first. If that does not work, you may have a separate Family Access login linked to a personal email account. Use the Forgot Login ID/Password? link and enter your personal email address. If you receive an emailed password reset link at your personal email address, you have two separate accounts. You can submit a helpdesk request with your HISD username, the names of your HISD student children, and your home address to request that the two accounts be merged together.
- How do I change my password once I am logged in?
Once you have successfully logged in, you can update your default password. To do so, click on the My Account link in the top right corner of the Family Access home page.
On the My Account page, click the Change Password button, and you will be allowed to change your password to a selection of your choice. Your username is system-assigned and cannot be changed.
- What if I still can't log in?
Create a technology support ticket through the Incident IQ (IIQ) system for assistance. Your patience at the start of the school year is greatly appreciated, as we have a very high volume of parent helpdesk requests.
