The Health Team oversees the healthcare of every student and staff member in the entire district in compliance with regulatory standards set forth by the Texas Board of Nursing, Texas Education Agency, the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS), the Centers for Disease Control, and recommendations by the National Association of School Nurses and the Texas SchoolNurses Organization. A local physician serves as the signing physician for standard orders and as an adviser to the District Nurse.

Each Hutto ISD Campus has a full-time nurse assigned to them.

  • Immunization Requirements                              Texas Department of State Health Services

In preparation for the 2023-24 school year, we want to send a friendly reminder regarding the required vaccines.

All students must be cleared through the school health office for compliance with state immunization requirements for school children. Some 30-day provisional enrollment may apply but ONLY if specific requirements are met.

Students who have already registered and are delinquent on required vaccines must obtain needed vaccines and be cleared by the school health office prior to starting classes. Texas State Law and Board Policy states that all required immunizations be physician or Health Department verified. The month, date, and year for each shot must be indicated. The following chart summarizes the vaccine requirements in Title 25 Health Services, Section 97.61-97.72 of the Texas Administrative Code.

If you have updated shot records you can email them to your campus nurse, the directory can be found here.

For children needing medical exemptions from immunization requirements, a written statement by the physician must be submitted at the time of registration. For children receiving an exemption for reasons of conscience, an original notarized Texas Department of Health affidavit form submitted within 90 days from the date it is notarized must be provided to the health office. No other forms or reproductions will be allowed.
