Degrees and Certifications:
Welcome to Hutto Middle School! I am thrilled to work alongside the staff at HMS and everyone in HISD to enhance the education of all of our students. I believe in the power of connection in creating a warm, welcoming environment at our school. While my interests are varied, I love family, exploring new places, traveling/adventure, being in nature, animals, all things art, games, puzzles, anything related to space, all things MARVEL, and just being present with our authentic selves in the moment. I am a mother of two elementary aged children and a labrador puppy named Mayvis who combined have given my husband and I some nice streaks of gray hair you won't see in the retouched school picture to your left.
I recieved both my undergraduate and graduate degrees from Texas A&M University and have spent the first 8 years of my career in education as a passionate Social Studies teacher. Presently, I am on my fourth year as a school counselor for HMS (caseload A-L) and am very grateful for the opportunity to work with the amazing students in this district. Having spent my career working with secondary level students, I know the demands facing our students both academically and within the social emotional realm. I believe education is a team effort and I work every day to ensure all of our students have positive academic, social, and emotional growth during their time with us. Please feel free to contact me regarding any needs you may have. Thank you for letting me be a part of your experience here at HMS.
