What is PBL?

Project Based Learning is where students investigate open-ended questions, learn by problem solving and then apply their knowledge to produce authentic products.

    Why PBL?

In the 21st century workplace, success requires more than basic knowledge and skills. In PBL, students not only understand content more deeply but also learn how to take responsibility and build confidence, solve problems, work collaboratively, communicate ideas, and be creative innovators.

Hutto ISD has partnered with The Buck Institute of Education to assist in getting all our teachers trained (by the 2017-18 school year) in the instructional method of Project Based Learning.   Fifty-five classroom teachers in the summer of 2015 and 148 staff members in the summer of 2016, attended PBL 101 and were trained by the Buck Institute for Education and are beginning to infuse PBL into Hutto ISD classrooms.
