Hutto Independent School District

Every school  district in the State of Texas is required to establish  a  committee  that regularly meets to plan for the improvement of student  performance. The Board of Trustees for Hutto ISD has adopted a policy  establishing a committee to help with the district-level planning and  decision-making process. This committee is called the District Advisory Council or DAC.
The mission of the DAC is to inspire excellence in education for all Hutto ISD students through broad-based community representation.  The Council is advisory in nature and approves district-level professional  development plans. Other purposes include reviewing  the District’s educational  plans, goals, student performance, drop-out information, and major classroom instructional programs.
The DAC consists of campus-based professional staff, District-level professional staff, parents, business representatives, and community members. As required by law, at least 2/3 of the district/campus staff must be classroom teachers. Every effort is made to select non-staff members representing ethnic, grade, and program diversity.
The DAC meets approximately 5 times a year, usually at 5:00 p.m. at the Hutto ISD Administration Building, 200 College Street, Hutto, Texas. After each meeting, minutes are posted on the District’s website.
